Your Strengths

Decades of research has shown that when employees are given the opportunity to do what they do best every day, the effect on individual, team, and organizational performance is powerful. The problem is that most people aren’t able to accurately identify their own strengths and therefore can’t intentionally use them.

Let me help you become more effective, efficient, and engaged in your life!

Ezekiel - Communication

Gallup defines Communication as: People who are especially talented in the Communication theme generally find it easy to put their thoughts into words. They are good conversationalists and presenters.

Anyone who can tell a story that lasts 2500 years and is still being told much be a good communicator! Ezekiel shared his visions starting with the wheel within the wheel. His imagination is vivid with lightning, fire and whirlwinds. (Some people even wondered if he was describing UFOs!)

Ezekiel was a priest deported to Babylon when king Nebuchadnezzar invaded Judah and destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. His prophetic ministry was marked by extraordinary imagination and unique imagery and stories. He told of eating a scroll, shaving his hair and beard, a rusty pot, and the Dry Bones!

Prophets took great care to ensure their ideas would be powerful and lasting. After so many years Ezekiel's vision of the valley of Dry Bones is still being taught. In context, the nation of Israel is in big trouble. They had turned against God and their hearts were "dead." God has a vision for Ezekiel.

He is taken to a valley full of very dry bones. Ezekiel sees the nation of Israel. There is no way Israel could get themselves out of Babylonian captivity- they, like these bones, were hopeless.

God asks him a crazy question, "Can these bones live again?" Ezekiel answers, "Sovereign Lord, you alone know."

Ezekiel is then told to preach to these bones?! Speak to bones?! That's crazy! But something even crazier happened...right before his eyes, these bones came together (can you imagine the sound?!)- till they became thousands of corpses. Ezekiel 37:10 says, "So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army."

Now THAT'S communication!!!

But there is no one with Communication like Jesus!

Hebrews 4:12 tells us: "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

John 1:1: "In the beginning was The Word and The Word became flesh and dwelt among us."

There is great power in the WORD of God! Our of no where, time and space God speaks the universe into existence! His voice takes chaos and creates order, takes darkness and creates light, takes death and gives life. It can transform a person's life dramatically!

Jesus spoke with authority. He often said, "You've heard it was said...but I say to you..." His authority was above all other voices that the people were hearing.

Jesus listened...sometimes He didn't respond. But He knew the heart of all people.

Psalms 29:4: "The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic."

But Jesus doesn't want us to just hear His words... "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." James 1:22, He is looking for a call to action! For people to rise up and find power, healing, acceptance and faith!

Having the gift of communication is being a good storyteller. They get you to imagine, feel and believe in something. Here's to all the great communicators out there- Thank you for bringing us your message through a story. Thank you for giving us inspiration to see past the data and into the heart of the matter.
