Teach With Your Strengths- Context
I have to say, I had a lot of fun sketching this one out. In my brainstorming this theme, I asked some other Strengths coaches what images came to mind with Context. The one that really caught my attention was "Indiana Jones". He was definitely a teacher who loved history! Indy was a professor of archaeology in search of adventure- what a great starting place to dive into the theme of Context for a teacher!
People who are especially talented in the Context theme enjoy thinking about the past. They understand the present by researching its history.
Perspective and background is very important to these teachers. They don't necessarily need to be teaching the subject of history. You may have a band teacher who loves the stories of each instrument, where they came from and how they were developed.
Although in it's raw form (undeveloped Context), it can look like you are "living in the past", the mature form of this theme learns from the past.
Words that describe this person would be: historical, orienting, perceptive and studios. They may like to collect valuable memorabilia and have an accurate memory of past events.
Historical context can come from many places... cultural, legal, geography and people. It doesn't have to only be about time.
Be reminded. Be purposeful.
Rock Your Strengths.
