The Dead Sea is called “dead" because it has no outlet. The water flowing into it from the Jordan river is full of life but the salt content in the Dead Sea is so high it kills all life.
Every week we receive God’s word and His truth accumulates but needs an outlet. Matt 10:8 Freely we have received, freely give.”
What we receive from the Lord we are under an obligation to share. Do you have a testimony? Then share it.
If God blessed you someone will need to know what you learned. Don’t hide it under a bushel.
The reason I share Son Light’s testimony so often is because we received this miracle from God. When we found our building in 1975 it was in escrow to become an X-rated theater. God blocked that sale. The brothers purchasing it got into an argument that kept them from putting the down payment into escrow. We were next in line. Even thought we did not have the money to purchase the building the owner gave us 10 months, rent free, to come up with the down payment. We then paid off the building in half the time and this is the testimony we pass on to our children and our children’s children.
God blessed Abraham then said, “And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” What we receive we need to pass on to others.
In order to live we have to inhale and exhale. What we receive we give. It’s part of the cycle of life. Tides come in and then go out again. The earth turns and we receive day light and darkness followed by day light again.
Even in matters of friendship if you want to have friends you must show yourself to be friendly.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to the church so that we might give them to others. The gifts of healing are for others. Prophecy, wisdom and discerning of spirits are given so that we can bless others.
Jesus is the ultimate giver. What He received from His Father He freely gave to us.
Jesus gives His love, protection, promises and provision. He gives us His forgiveness. He gives us acceptance, abundant life, joy and a peace that passes all understanding.
God says He is willing to supply all our needs according to His riches.
Jesus said to pray, “forgive us our debts as we forgive those who are indebted to us.” Give what you have received.
Having trouble giving it? Come to the great giver who giveth and giveth and giveth again. [Song: “Come”]
